Welcome to The Old Smiddy

Located within and forming part of the boundary of Scotland First National Park, the Old Smiddy Cottage is built over Ballagan burn which runs down to meet the waters of Loch Lomond We also have an Apartment which is attached to the original Blacksmiths House offers an ideal base to enjoy Loch Lomond and the surrounding area.

Both charming premises are equipped to the highest standards with beautiful tartan carpets, the Cottage having Black Watch and the Apartment having the Lindsay tartan. Both Cottage and Apartment have gas central heating and double glazing and share a private patio where guests can relax and enjoy the scenery beside Ballagan burn along with the wild ducks. Private parking is available large enough to accommodate a car and boat and we provide free WI FI for all of our guests.

The Old Smiddy Cottage and Apartment are the ideal base for a self-catering holiday in Scotland particularly for touring Loch Lomond and the Trossachs.

Stirling and Glasgow, are within a half-hour drive away, Edinburgh and Perth one hour, and much of Argyll, Perthshire, Ayrshire, and South East Scotland is accessible in less than two hours.

For those who do not wish to venture too far, there are many wonderful scenic drives, walks and attractions close to the cottage and apartment. Only a short drive or bus journey will take you the edge of Ben Lomond and the West Highland Way.
